NEWS! PEAKS Studio 5.3 released! Take the PEAKS Challenge

"A big step forward."
"Far better than I could ever squeeze out of my data."

NEWS! PEAKS performed excellently in ABRF/iPRG study for ETD MS peptide identification

The iPRG group of ABRF 2011 conference hosted an independent study for researchers to benchmark their own labs' ETD data analysis capability. Thirty-five labs worldwide submitted their peptide identification results using the same dataset provided by iPRG. Researchers using PEAKS software (preview version of PEAKS DB v5.3) performed excellently and identified a considerably high quantity of peptides with a very low false discovery rate (FDR). This is just another study illustrating the exceptional capability of PEAKS software in providing a combination of high peptide identification rate and low FDR from database searching. According to Dr. Bin Ma (CTO, Bioinformatics Solutions Inc.), this is made possible by combining the reputable PEAKS de novo sequencing results in the database search analysis.

To view the complete results, visit this link to the original slides presented by the iPRG: http://www.abrf.org/ResearchGroups/ProteomicsInformaticsResearchGroup/Studies/iPRG2011_slides_ABRF_20110309.pdf

The original PEAKS Online 2.0 can be accessed from here.

The GUI of PEAKS Client 5.3 is very similar to PEAKS Studio 5.3. Therefore, the PEAKS Studio 5.3 User Manual is a good document to use to become familiar with PEAKS Online/Client. Most of the PEAKS Studio Video Tutorials also apply to PEAKS Online/Client 5.2.
